Meatless Day of the week Recipe: Plantains two ways


Hey all

I wanted to show you another recipe but I forgot the final picture so I will insert one taken via another site ( with credit. ) I made plantains used in South American( Spanish) Cuisine and also made sweet ones that are used in Caribbean /African Cuisine.

Note this all came from Trader Joes running out of plantain chips and me determined to eat some so, I took the pics of the above but no final result pictures. lol .

Very easy to make guys I just as always looked online to see how to make them and they both turned out great. Here are the two recipes.




Sweet Plantains / Chips 

Ingredients


  • Yellow very Plantains  ( sweet) 
  • Greenish Yellow ( chips)     
  • Salt
  • Oil     
  • Brown Sugar ( Sweet ones)     
  • Butter ( Sweet one)

Directions                     
  1. Peel and cut as seen above
  2. Put in oil 
  3. Add salt and fry until crispy ( deep fry for chips)
For sweet add melted butter and brown sugar mix to plantains while cooking.
